This easy peppermint dessert is sure to become a go-to recipe every year. The white chocolate and peppermint are really the perfect holiday blend. While the white chocolate makes a creamy and sweet base, the peppermint adds a refreshing and iconic Christmas taste.

All you need to make Candy Cane Bark is white chocolate, peppermint extract, and of course pieces of candy cane or crushed peppermint. Making this sweet and rich treat honestly couldn’t be easier. VARIATIONS ON WHITE CHOCOLATE CANDY CANE BARK

  • Chocolate: Instantly change the taste of your Peppermint Bark by just swapping out the white chocolate chips for any other chocolate. You can melt semi-sweet, dark chocolate, or milk chocolate then just stir in the peppermint extract as usual.
  • Layers: Another option is doing more than one layer of chocolate. Melt milk, semi-sweet, or dark chocolate to pour over the base of the paper-lined pan. Then you can add a white layer and sprinkle the candy cane on top.
  • Toppings: There are plenty of different toppings you could try adding to White Chocolate Peppermint Bark instead of just peppermint candies. Try adding some Oreo cookie crumbs, holiday M&M’s, or mini marshmallows. You could also use different flavored candy canes, like chocolate or fruit, instead of peppermint candy canes.
  • Decorations: To decorate White Chocolate Peppermint Bark you can add red food coloring to the white chocolate mixture. You can also top the chocolate with sanding sugar or festive sprinkles.
  • Flavor additions: Some flavors you can use for this recipe instead of peppermint are vanilla extract or almond extract. You could also add either of those flavors along with the peppermint. To make almond bark use almond extract and add chopped almonds to the top of the dessert.
